Aluminum profile extrusion processing, from a professional perspective, applies external force to the metal billet inside the extrusion cylinder, causing it to flow out from a specific die hole to obtain a product with the required cross-sectional shape and size. Therefore, from its definition, its processing method is a plastic processing method. This type of extrusion press certainly has accessories; generally speaking, there are things like plungers, scale plates, and slides.

2. In the aluminum profile extrusion press, using the volume method and the practical weight method to calculate the aluminum rod parameters, are the calculation formulas the same?

In the aluminum profile extrusion press, the calculation of the aluminum rod parameters uses two methods: the volume method and the practical weight method, and their corresponding calculation formulas are different. In the volume method, the calculation formula for the extruded length of the aluminum rod is (aluminum rod length / upsetting coefficient - residual thickness) * extrusion ratio, and the rod length is (extruded length / extrusion ratio + residual thickness) * upsetting coefficient, where the upsetting coefficient is obtained by dividing the cross-sectional area of the cast rod by the cross-sectional area of the extrusion cylinder.

If the aluminum rod parameters are calculated using the practical weight method, it is: aluminum rod weight = extruded length * profile weight per meter + residual weight. Therefore, these two have different calculation formulas, and the above conclusion is drawn.

Extrusion press equipment is becoming increasingly popular in enterprises. When selecting extrusion press equipment, in addition to considering the thermal effects of extrusion speed on extruded metal, the press should also have sufficient rigidity and guiding accuracy, and a reliable overload protection device should be set. When using friction presses for extrusion, due to the different guiding accuracy of the equipment, guiding devices need to be installed on the mold. For friction presses without ejectors, lifting devices should also be added. When using universal crank presses, in order to improve the strength and rigidity of the equipment, the worktable bottom plate should use cast steel parts, and the holes on the worktable should be reduced. Because the parts remain in the mold after extrusion, the tension between the extruded part and the mold is large, and the required ejection amount is large, about 10%-20% of the nominal pressure. Therefore, the pressure setting value ejection device should be strengthened. In addition, the extrusion pressure and stroke should be checked according to the load curve allowed by the press slide block. That is, within the entire extrusion stroke range, the extrusion pressure should be less than the limit value of the stroke pressure curve allowed by the press, and cannot be determined according to the nominal pressure.
